Our company can trace its beginnings all the way back to 1971, when Francis McGeown began his one man haulage business, transporting consignments from across Europe and the UK to Ireland. Over the next fifty years, the McGeown name would become a familiar sight on the roads as his fleet grew, thanks to its reputation for service and reliability.
Today, we’re called McGeown Logistics, and while much has changed over time, some things haven’t, including our distinctive livery and our dedication to providing a professional, courteous and punctual service, as well as a policy of operating a fleet which is modern and efficient, maintained and presented to our own high standards.
A professional, reliable and friendly service is the cornerstone approach to our transport business. Our lengthy list of long term customers is a result of the company’s strong commitment to customer service and satisfaction.
We pride ourselves on our personal approach to business and all of our loads are driver accompanied. We work with our customers to provide customised solutions to meet their specific transportation needs
Based outside Newry City, we operate a fleet of refrigerated trailers, Euroliners, flat trailers and Low Loaders, with a modern fleet of Scanias, Volvos, Dafs and Man Trucks.
We specialise in all types of refrigerated transport including: chilled, frozen and dry products.
We transport refrigerated goods to Sweden and dry cargo to Spain while we also operate a multi drop service throughout Holland, Belgium and Germany.
“We take great pride in the appearance of our fleet and having nice trucks in good condition is very important to us. Our trucks are our shop window and having them looking well makes a big difference.
All of our drivers are hands on when it comes to looking after their trucks. We keep one driver to one truck and it is their responsibility to look after their truck.
McGeown Logistics also offer a warehousing service and are currently in the process of expanding the warehouse storage capacity.
